Emily is a mother to two boys and one girl, Drew, Chase and Reese. She attended the University of Richmond for her undergraduate degree in Education and the University of Virginia for her masters degree as a reading specialist. Her background includes work as an elementary teacher, a reading specialist, and a preschool teacher. She loves to see students working together to problem solve and their excitement as they share what they’ve learned.
Teresa is a mother to two amazing young ladies ages 15 and 18. For the past 11 years, she has enjoyed working with children at the preschool as well as at the kindergarten level. She is passionate about inspiring children to express their creativity, and enjoys spending time in her woodworking shop honing her craft. She loves her time working for Little STEAMers in addition to her work as a substitute teacher. Constant learning of anything maker related and working with children are her hearts passions!
Somer is the proud mother of 4: Porter (12). Griffin (12), Fletcher (9) and Berkley (5). She received her Bachelor’s of Science Degree and Registered Dietitian Certificate from James Madison University and her Masters of Science from George Washington University. She has a passion for teaching and motivating young students of all ages. Her background is in dietetics and exercise physiology where she has a history of teaching nutrition to all ages. She has developed a love of teaching educational programs at the elementary and preschool levels. Watching the mind of a child develop while growing their confidence is always rewarding to her. She is thrilled to be teaching for Little STEAMers this year.
